3620 HSAW Pipe Mill Successfully Commissioned for Stable Production in Sichuan,China

The on-site installation and commissioning of the Sichuan 3620 spiral welded pipe production line have been completed, and the first batch of spiral welded pipes has been successfully produced, marking the project’s smooth transition into the stable production phase.
This project has been established in Sichuan, addressing the robust demand in the Southwest region for large‑diameter spiral welded pipes used in major energy and infrastructure projects. The 3620‑specification spiral welding line is capable of producing pipes with diameters ranging from 820 mm to 3,620 mm, with a maximum wall thickness of 30 mm. Its products can meet diverse application needs, including long‑distance oil and gas pipelines, urban water supply and drainage systems, and foundation works for large bridges. Upon commissioning, the facility will achieve an annual production capacity of several hundred thousand tons, effectively closing the gap in large‑diameter spiral welded pipe capacity in the Southwest. This development resolves the longstanding industry challenges of relying on eastern regions for oversized steel pipe supplies—resulting in high transportation costs and extended delivery lead times.

Steel pipe diameter: Φ820–Φ3620 mm
Steel pipe thickness: 8–30 mm
Cabin configuration: forward-swinging, center-mounted
The newly commissioned production line incorporates intelligent online weld inspection and an automated forming‑precision control system, with all pressure‑bearing and corrosion‑resistance performance indicators meeting the national core standards for oil and gas transmission steel pipes. Moving forward, the line will prioritize supplying pipe materials for multiple energy‑related branch pipeline networks within Sichuan Province and for municipal renovation projects in the Chengdu–Chongqing metropolitan area, thereby providing reliable pipe‑material support for regional energy security and infrastructure development.
