The 1500 steel pipe diameter‑expanding machine designed and manufactured by Huaye Heavy Industry is undergoing on-site commissioning in Thailand.
This project involves the custom design and manufacture of core production equipment by Huaye Heavy Industry for a leading Thai steel pipe producer. The equipment will primarily support the processing and production of large-diameter steel pipes used in local oil and gas transmission pipelines and large-scale infrastructure steel structures, thereby meeting the Southeast Asian market’s demand for high-end pipe‑processing machinery.

- Expansion method: mechanical expansion
- Expandable diameter range: φ600–φ1500 mm
- Expandable pipe wall thickness range: 6–16 mm
- Expandable pipe length range: 6–12 m
The technical team from Huaye Heavy Industry, conducting on-site commissioning, had beforehand meticulously mapped out the installation procedures and commissioning milestones. Tailoring the equipment parameters to the local grid conditions and the customer’s specific production requirements, they carried out fine-tuned calibration. At present, both no-load operation and loaded trial machining are progressing smoothly, with all key performance indicators—such as diameter‑expansion accuracy and operational stability—meeting design specifications, earning early approval from the customer’s on-site project manager.
During the commissioning phase, the technical team also conducted hands-on training for the customer’s operators and maintenance personnel, covering key points of daily equipment maintenance and methods for addressing common issues, thereby ensuring rapid production startup after project completion. As another heavy‑equipment export project under Huaye Heavy Industry’s response to the Belt and Road Initiative, this equipment, once commissioned, will help upgrade local pipe‑manufacturing capabilities in Thailand and further strengthen Huaye Heavy Industry’s reputation in the overseas high‑end pipe‑expansion equipment market.
